Hula Pico is an annual event on Molokai, my home island,  the second week of May. I was privileged to attend when this celebration began many years ago. In the beginning it was a very simple gathering. The dancers would emerge from a forest and enter the stage. Just to my right these two girls were waiting their turn to dance with their halau. I was happy to capture this moment when they were ‘talking story.’
