This painting is new and in the contemporary vein and illustrates the birds that were an intricate part of theHawaiian Culture. This watercolor shows us the rich texture and density of the feathers. It has been told that to create one of these precious capes, 500,000 feathes were needed. Some small birds could only yield 7 feathers per bird. The O'o bird is now extinct.  See the light within the cape, the Mana was a powerful aspect of all who adorned them.
